About Sandra

I am a mature, empathetic person who has grown up with dogs in our home, from birth. I have always had a dog and/or a cat. I have been owned by Sealyhams, Fox Terriers, Labradors and Jack Russells, plus a few mongrels over the years (oh, and a wandering Beagle!).
I am passionate about animal anti-cruelty and genuinely love all animals. My animals are part of my family and are dearly loved...and, yes, a little spoiled. Yet my present little Jack Russell is well trained and listens to commands. I expect good behaviour and get it with love and treats, never punishment.

Our History |
I got Othello as a puppy when I was laid up with one broken arm after another and couldn't work. He has been a lifesaver. He had to be walked and so I got into the habit of walking him and then, when we moved south, walking a neighbour's dog too, I discovered I really enjoyed this practice, in all weathers too! It got me out the house. I lost weight! I became more mindful of nature! I was less stressed. Othello is a Northerner - born in Sunderland. We moved from Newcastle to Bath several years ago for work..... and then I was made redundant shortly after! So I decided I would set up this Dog Boarding with Othello business as I so enjoy the company of dogs. I LOVE it and so does Othello! I get to meet like-minded, dog people, who care about their pooches and don't want to put them in kennels, as I don't, and Othello gets to have different dogs to play with. I get to look after so many lovely, well-cared for, well-loved and loving dogs - members of the family. I am very fortunate. I really do have the best job in the world! We have a small house and a small garden that is completely enclosed but are, again, fortunate in that we live in this beautiful countryside, with fields and woods, rivers and valleys (and country pubs who love dogs too!), so walking the dogs is an absolute pleasure, for the human involved as well as for the canines. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see a dog bounding along with joy, sniffing, running, chasing and making me laugh with crazy antics! The Rec is our meeting place for the dog community. We meet so many other dog walkers (and their dogs, of course!). Farmborough is a very dog-orientated village. There are lots of resident dogs with which our visitors can run and have fun with, on the Rec and in the fields and more. |
